Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of Reverie, a creative writing application provided by APTR Labs. By creating a Reverie account or using Reverie, you agree to these Terms, subject to applicable law.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not create an account or use Reverie.

You may use Reverie if you are able to form a binding agreement under the law that applies to you, and if you are at least 13 years old. If the law where you live sets a higher minimum age for using an online service of this kind, that higher age applies to you.

If you use Reverie on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms for that organization.

You are responsible for the activity that occurs under your account. Please keep your credentials confidential and use a password you do not reuse elsewhere.

You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep it up to date.

If you believe someone has accessed your account without authorization, contact aptrlabs@gmail.com promptly.

"User Content" means anything you create, upload, enter or save in Reverie, including stories, manuscripts, chapters, scenes, characters, worldbuilding material, plot material, notes, prompts, instructions to Reverie AI, and other creative material.

You are responsible for your User Content and for having the rights necessary to use it in Reverie.

You retain ownership of your original creative content.

APTR Labs does not claim ownership of your stories or original creative work simply because Reverie stores or processes it. Nothing in these Terms transfers your copyright to APTR Labs.

To operate Reverie, you grant APTR Labs a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, transmit, synchronize and display your User Content, and to process it at your direction, solely as reasonably necessary to:

• Operate and provide Reverie to you
• Store your content and keep it available in your account
• Synchronize your content across your sessions and devices
• Display your content back to you
• Process your content at your direction to deliver features you request
• Maintain, secure, troubleshoot and improve the service where legally and technically appropriate

This license exists to run the service and ends when your content is deleted, except where retention is required by law or for a reasonable period in routine backups.

Reverie provides AI-assisted writing functionality. AI output may be inaccurate, repetitive or incomplete, may misinterpret your instructions, may contain unexpected material, and will often require editing.

You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before publishing it, distributing it, commercializing it, relying upon it, or presenting it as factual.

The copyright and ownership treatment of AI-generated content varies by jurisdiction and circumstance. APTR Labs does not promise that you automatically own every aspect of every AI-generated output, and nothing here is legal advice about your rights in such output.

Reverie AI may operate locally on your device. You are responsible for ensuring that your device has sufficient resources to run the AI tier you choose to install.

Performance may vary depending on memory, processor, graphics capability, available storage, operating system and hardware acceleration support.

APTR Labs may change the underlying technology used by the Reverie AI tiers while maintaining the same user-facing tier names — Reverie AI Lite, Standard, Pro and Max.

AI tiers require files to be downloaded to your device and may require significant local storage. An internet connection is required for installation and for updates.

You may install more than one Reverie AI tier. Each additional tier requires additional storage.

You are responsible for having sufficient device storage and hardware, and for the cost of any data used to download AI tiers.

Reverie may introduce optional cloud AI functionality in the future. It is not part of the current service.

If such functionality is introduced and you choose to use it, information you intentionally send to the cloud provider may be processed by that provider, additional terms and privacy practices may apply, and Reverie will provide appropriate disclosure when the functionality is introduced.

You agree not to:

• Use Reverie for illegal activity or in violation of applicable law
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Reverie, other accounts, or related systems
• Interfere with, disrupt or attempt to compromise the service or other users
• Upload or distribute malware or other harmful code
• Abuse the service, including automated abuse, scraping or excessive load that degrades the service for others
• Circumvent technical restrictions, access controls or usage limits
• Infringe the intellectual property or other rights of others

Reverie's software, design and underlying implementation belong to APTR Labs or its licensors, as applicable. The Reverie name, logo and branding belong to APTR Labs.

You retain your original creative content, as described above.

Except where permitted by law, you may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, redistribute or otherwise misuse Reverie's proprietary software.

Reverie depends on third-party infrastructure, including the application platform that provides its hosting, authentication and database services, email delivery for account messages, optional social sign-in providers you may choose to use, and a payment processor in connection with paid functionality where offered.

Those services are governed by their own terms. Providers that are not part of the current implementation, including any future cloud AI provider, are not presented as current integrations.

Reverie is actively developed. Features may change, be updated, or be removed, and the service may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, updates or factors outside our control.

Local AI performance varies by device. APTR Labs does not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability.

APTR Labs may suspend or terminate an account that seriously or repeatedly violates these Terms, abuses the service, or creates legal risk or risk of harm to Reverie or its users.

You may stop using Reverie at any time and may request deletion of your account by emailing aptrlabs@gmail.com.

Where legally and technically appropriate, we will provide a reasonable opportunity to retrieve your User Content before it is removed following termination.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Reverie is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

APTR Labs does not warrant that AI output will be accurate, suitable or fit for any particular purpose; that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free; that local AI will achieve any particular performance on your device; or that third-party services will remain available.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, in which case those disclaimers apply only to the extent permitted.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, APTR Labs will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of Reverie.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, APTR Labs' total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to Reverie is limited to the greater of the amount you paid to APTR Labs for Reverie in the twelve months before the claim arose, or the minimum amount permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless APTR Labs from third-party claims, damages, liabilities and reasonable costs arising from your User Content, your use of Reverie in violation of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law or the rights of others.

Placeholder for APTR Labs legal review: insert the governing law and the exclusive venue for disputes, together with any required consumer-law carve-outs, before publication. This section is intentionally left unspecified rather than assumed.

Until that determination is completed, mandatory consumer protections available to you under the law of your place of residence continue to apply.

We may update these Terms as Reverie evolves or as required by law. Material changes will be reflected on this page and the "Last Updated" date will be revised. Continuing to use Reverie after an update means you accept the updated Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
