Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how APTR Labs handles information in connection with Reverie, a creative writing application.

Reverie is a product of APTR Labs. For any privacy question or request described in this policy, contact aptrlabs@gmail.com.

This policy describes the Reverie application as it currently exists. It will be updated as Reverie changes.

Reverie processes the following categories of information:

• Account information — the email address you use to create an account, and the display name you choose to save in your profile.
• Authentication information — credentials and session tokens handled by the application platform that provides Reverie's authentication, including email verification codes and, if you use a social sign-in option, the basic identity information that provider returns.
• User-created content — the stories, projects, chapters, scenes, characters, worldbuilding entries, plot material, research notes and consultant conversations you choose to save in Reverie.
• Writing preferences — settings you save, such as your chosen project type, genre and AI preferences.
• Technical information — information ordinarily processed when software connects to a service, such as request and connection information used for hosting, security and service reliability.
• Device capability signals used locally — when recommending an AI tier, Reverie reads capability signals from your browser and device, such as available memory, processor concurrency, graphics capability, storage estimates and operating system. These signals are evaluated on your device to produce a recommendation.

Reverie does not ask for payment card details in the application. Where paid functionality is offered in the future, payment details would be handled by the payment processor rather than stored by Reverie.

Your stories, chapters, manuscripts, characters, worldbuilding, notes and other creative material are stored in your Reverie account so they are available to you across sessions and devices.

APTR Labs does not claim ownership of your original creative work merely because you store or process it through Reverie. Your work remains yours.

Because Reverie stores your projects in your account rather than only on one device, your saved content is stored on the service infrastructure APTR Labs uses to operate Reverie in order to provide synchronization, retrieval and related functionality. Content you never save into Reverie is not stored by Reverie.

Reverie includes AI functionality designed to operate directly on your device. When you use an installed Reverie AI model for local inference, prompts, manuscript content, and relevant story context provided to that local model are processed on your device rather than being sent to an external AI provider for that inference.

Installed Reverie AI models and their installation state are stored on the device where you installed them, using your browser's local storage and cache facilities. They are not part of your account profile.

An internet connection may still be required for account synchronization, downloading AI models, model updates, and other online functionality.

Reverie's 100% private positioning applies to AI processing performed locally on your device. When you use on-device Reverie AI, the content provided to the local model for inference is not sent to an external AI provider solely for that inference.

*If Reverie introduces optional cloud AI functionality in the future, information intentionally sent to a cloud AI provider may be processed according to that provider's applicable terms and privacy practices. Users will be informed when functionality requires cloud processing.

This positioning describes AI inference. It does not mean that content you choose to save to your Reverie account is stored only on your device — saved projects are synchronized to your account as described above.

Content you save in Reverie — projects, story bible material, characters, worldbuilding, scenes, chapters, notes and consultant conversations — is associated with your account so it can be retrieved when you sign in.

Reverie applies per-record access rules so that records created by your account are readable and modifiable by your account, and by administrators of the application where required to operate the service.

Installed AI tiers, the currently selected AI tier and your theme preference are stored on your device rather than synchronized to your account.

We use reasonable measures to protect this information, but we do not make unsupported guarantees about security.

Reverie relies on the following third-party infrastructure:

• The application platform that hosts Reverie and provides its authentication and database services. This provider processes account information, authentication data and the content you save, on APTR Labs' behalf, in order to operate Reverie.
• Social sign-in providers, only if you choose to sign in with one of them (for example Google, Apple, Microsoft or Facebook). In that case, the provider confirms your identity to Reverie according to that provider's own terms and privacy practices.
• Email delivery used by the platform for account-related messages such as verification codes.
• A payment processor, used only in connection with paid functionality where offered. Payment details are handled by the processor.

Reverie does not send your prompts or manuscript content to an external AI provider for inference. No cloud AI provider is used by the current implementation.

Placeholder for APTR Labs legal review: confirm and, if required by applicable law, list each infrastructure sub-processor by legal name and processing location in the published version of this policy.

Reverie uses browser storage technologies for the following purposes:

• Session and authentication storage, used to keep you signed in.
• Local storage, used for your theme preference and for the record of which Reverie AI tiers are installed on this device.
• Browser cache and related device storage, used to hold downloaded local AI model files so that they can run without being downloaded again.

Reverie does not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.

Reverie does not currently include a third-party analytics or behavioral tracking product in the application.

The platform that hosts Reverie may process standard operational information such as request logs for hosting, security and reliability purposes. If product analytics are introduced in the future, this policy will be updated before or when that functionality is introduced.

Reverie does not currently include a dedicated third-party crash or error reporting product.

Errors may be recorded in standard server-side operational logs by the hosting platform, which may include technical details such as the time of the request, the type of error and related request metadata.

Reverie does not send your manuscript content to an error reporting service.

Local AI model files must be downloaded to your device before an AI tier can be used. An internet connection is required for initial model installation and for model updates.

Once installed, local AI inference can operate without an internet connection.

Model files are stored on your device and can be removed at any time from Reverie's AI settings. Removing an AI tier never deletes your stories, projects or notes.

APTR Labs uses reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures intended to protect information processed through Reverie, including access controls and per-record access rules for stored content.

No service can guarantee absolute security. We do not promise that unauthorized access, loss or disclosure can never occur.

Content you save in Reverie is retained in your account until you delete it or until your account is deleted.

Deleting a project, character, scene, chapter or note removes that record from your account.

Operational logs kept by the hosting platform are retained for the period applied by that platform for security and reliability purposes.

Local AI model files remain on your device until you remove the corresponding AI tier or clear your browser storage.

Placeholder for APTR Labs legal review: confirm the exact retention periods applied by the hosting platform and state them here if disclosure is required in your jurisdiction.

Reverie does not currently provide an automated in-app account deletion workflow.

You can delete your own content at any time from within the application. To request deletion of your account and associated stored content, email aptrlabs@gmail.com from the address associated with your account. We will act on verified requests within a reasonable period, subject to any legal obligation to retain certain records.

• Account — you choose what account information to provide, and you can update your display name at any time.
• User content — you decide what to save in Reverie, and you can edit or delete your projects and records.
• Local AI — you choose whether to install a Reverie AI tier, which tier to use, and when to remove it.
• Installed AI tiers and device storage — you control how many tiers are installed on your device, and each can be removed to reclaim storage.
• Theme — you can use Light, Dark or System appearance, stored on your device.
• Deletion — you can request account deletion by emailing aptrlabs@gmail.com.

Reverie is not directed to children. Accounts are intended for users who meet the eligibility requirements set out in the Terms of Service.

If we become aware that we have collected information from a child in a manner not permitted by applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information. Parents or guardians who believe a child has created an account may contact aptrlabs@gmail.com.

We may update this Privacy Policy as Reverie evolves, as functionality changes, or as required by applicable law. Material changes will be reflected here, and the "Last Updated" date will be revised.
